A nail biting finale to the 2007/08 season, Athletic needed to take all 3 points from a tricky away fixture at Moneyslane, while Rovers need to win away in fortress Lisburn to ensure 2nd place and possible promotion. Armagh Athletic scored early from Cormac Hutton and thats the way it stayed in a tense match that had everyone drained, shortly after the game finished Athletic learned that Rovers had only managed a draw at the Dons.
